Welcome to a sample Project Wiki!

Getting Started

To begin building your project wiki, you first need to decide what it is that you would like this wiki to accomplish.
- You need to upgrade your wiki to the K-12 Protected Free space that contains no ads. To do this, follow the steps to the left for Upgrading your wiki.
- To change the look and feel of your wiki, follow the link to the left for wiki Appeal. This will allow you to customize your wiki to look and navigate in a way that you enjoy.
- Finally, decide what type of material you would like to include in your wiki and create pages to hold the different aspects of the project. Click Creating for instructions on how to create new pages.
Now decide how you would like your students to participate with this wiki.
- If students are going to be editing the material on this wiki, you will need to give them member rights. Click the Members page to the left to follow steps to add your students to a wiki.
- If students are not going to be editing the wiki, they do not need to be members. Wikis and the information on wikis can be viewed when the address is shared. Students do not need to be members to view or open the material on the wiki unless they are going to be editing or adding to the content.

You can begin by creating a new wiki and organizing the HOME page for that wiki. This is a sample home page.

You would set up your home page to be you when you are not in the room. That means you need specific directions and instructions to be visible here.
Some good suggestions for your home page are Background information to the project (Getting Started), Table of Contents ( in the left navigation bar), Count down to Due Dates and a Message Board/Announcements section.
